The Wharton African Students Association (WASA) invites you to experience the wonders of Zimbabwe, Botswana & Zambia in one unforgettable week. From the thundering majesty of Victoria Falls and Livingstone to a safari deep in Botswana's Chobe National Park, this trip packs the very best of the region into seven remarkable days.

Cross borders, cruise rivers alongside elephants and hippos, stand at the edge of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and unwind with your WASA community against some of the most breathtaking backdrops on the continent.

Come ready to explore, celebrate and connect— every part of this trip is designed to bring you closer to the landscapes, wildlife and energy of Southern Africa!

The WASA Southern Africa trek begins in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, one of the region’s most iconic gateways! On arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport, the group will be met and welcomed by an Enroute54 host, before transferring to the hotel to check in, freshen up and settle into the first stop of the trip.

The evening starts with a welcome Boma dinner experience, bringing everyone together over local flavours, traditional drumming and live performances. It is the first shared moment of the trek and a lively introduction to the experiences ahead.

PS: To allow enough time to check in, settle in and freshen up before the Boma Dinner Experience at 7:00 PM, we recommend booking a flight that arrives in Victoria Falls no later than 2:00 PM.

The first full day takes the group across the border into Botswana for a full safari experience at the Chobe National Park. After breakfast, the group will depart Victoria Falls and make their way through the Kasane border before continuing to Chobe National Park, one of Southern Africa’s most rewarding wildlife areas.

The day combines both land and water experiences, starting with a game drive through the park and continuing with a safari cruise with lunch along the Chobe River.

Between the open landscapes, river views and chance to spot the Big 5, this is one of the standout adventure days of the trek.

After a full day in Botswana, the group returns to Victoria Falls for the evening to relax and unwind.

After breakfast, we will head to the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge for the Bridge Slide experience — a thrilling zipline gliding across the Batoka Gorge, suspended high above the Zambezi River with the spray of the Falls and the historic bridge as your backdrop. It’s an exhilarating ride with some of the best views in Victoria Falls, and a far gentler thrill than the bungee for those who want the moment without the plunge.

After the experience, the group returns to the lodge with the rest of the day left open for extra exploring or simply slowing down and enjoying Victoria Falls at their own pace.

Today, you get to see Victoria Falls from both sides, because one country’s view is simply not enough. With a guided walk through the rainforest and key viewpoints, you get to see the Falls from different angles while learning more about the history, landscape and cross-border significance of the area.

After the tour, you will continue into Zambia and transfer to your hotel in Livingstone to check-in. This officially marks the start of the Zambian side of the trek, so yes, your passport gets a little workout too!

Today takes you right to the edge of Victoria Falls with a speedboat ride to Livingstone Island, one of the most unforgettable ways to experience the Falls up close.

Depending on water levels, you will visit either Angel’s Pool or Devil’s Pool, which is exactly as dramatic as it sounds. It is bold, scenic and definitely not your average pool day. The rest of the day is left open, giving you time to enjoy Livingstone at your own pace, or recover from the fact that you were casually standing at the edge of one of the world’s most famous waterfalls.

After days of borders, waterfalls, wildlife and “did we really just do that?” moments, day 6 gives you room to slow the pace down. The day is open for you to enjoy Livingstone your way, whether that means resting, exploring, booking an optional activity or simply taking in the last full day without a packed schedule.

The WASA Southern Africa trek comes to an end as you check out and transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your departure flight.

After a week across Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia, this is the final stretch. One last transfer, one last look back, and probably a camera roll that will need serious storage space.

Flights NOT Included: Kindly note that international flights are not included in the quoted package price. Please plan your international flights as a round trip into and out of Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA). We recommend choosing a flight arriving in Victoria Falls latest by 2:00pm.

Passport Validity: Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your intended date of departure, with at least 3–4 free pages for visa stamps. This trip involves multiple border crossings between Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.

Visas-KAZA Univisa (Recommended): This itinerary crosses three borders, and the simplest option is the KAZA Univisa. It costs USD $50, allows multiple entries into both Zimbabwe and Zambia for up to 30 days, and also covers day trips into Botswana through the Kazungula border. It can be purchased on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport. US passport holders do not require a visa for Zambia or for the Botswana day trip, but do require one for Zimbabwe — the KAZA Univisa covers all crossings on this itinerary in one document. Enroute54 will provide guests with an official invitation letter, hotel confirmation letters, and the group itinerary to support entry.

Do you need a yellow fever vaccination certificate or card?: A Yellow fever vaccination is required on arrival into Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia for travelers aged 9 months and older who are incoming from a high-risk country, or who have transited/visited through a high-risk country recently. The vaccination requirement is for the protection against yellow fever, and you could be denied entry without it. Travelers need to ensure that they are vaccinated and have a valid vaccination certificate at least 10 days prior to arrival. We advise that you seek medical advice on how to go about obtaining this vaccination and certification from your chosen medical doctor. However, if you’re a US passport holder (or on the list of exempt countries), and don’t fall within these categories you may choose to opt out of this at your own discretion. 

Mandatory Travel Insurance: Travel Insurance is mandatory for trips with Enroute54. Travelers will need to purchase appropriate travel insurance cover before traveling to Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia. Please ensure that you obtain comprehensive travel insurance which will cover all overseas medical costs, including medical repatriation/evacuation, etc., in case of emergencies, and also cover the full cost of your trip, flights and any overstay/additional expense due to incident or illness, etc. that may arise.

Malaria Precautions : Victoria Falls, Livingstone and Chobe are all located in malaria zones. Malaria precautions are essential and prevent against mosquito bites by covering up with clothing such as long sleeves and long trousers especially after sunset, using insect repellents on exposed skin when necessary. It is strongly recommended to seek medical advice about purchasing or taking any antimalarial treatments beforehand. Be sure to pack some appropriate mosquito repellant spray or cream.

Processing Fees : When proceeding to payment for this trip, please expect to see a participant card processing fee if you choose to pay by credit or debit card. 

Create an account to manage your package: When checking out, you should check the box next to "Create an account to manage your booking online." This will allow you to edit, adjust your trip, and select add-ons at a later date.

Booking Transfers: A Traveller may request to transfer their confirmed booking to another eligible individual, subject to Enroute54's prior written approval. All transfer requests must be submitted in writing to Enroute54 at info@enroute54.com by the original Traveller no later than Twenty Eight (28) days before departure (or such other deadline specified by Enroute54), with full details of the proposed Replacement Traveller and any documentation reasonably requested by Enroute54. The Replacement Traveller must complete all required booking documentation and travel forms, and accept Enroute54's Booking Terms and Conditions. Any transfer fees, supplier charges, fare differences, or additional costs arising from the transfer shall be borne by the Traveller. Enroute54 reserves the right to refuse any transfer where supplier restrictions, operational requirements, or other reasonable circumstances prevent the transfer.

Changes, Refund & Cancellation Terms: Once your booking is confirmed, any requested changes must be submitted in writing and may be subject to administrative fees and any additional charges imposed by suppliers. The first deposit made is non-refundable. Cancellations made more than four (4) weeks before the trip start date will incur a fee of 50% of instalments paid (excluding the non-refundable deposit). Cancellations made within four (4) weeks of the trip start date will incur a 100% cancellation fee. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@enroute54.com and will only take effect once acknowledged by Enroute54. Any applicable refunds remain subject to supplier terms, foreign exchange fluctuations and payment processing fees.
